I am running a SE CV-44 with a 220 main and 48 slow jet with the stock needle jet, one washer. I am having difficulty tuning because of a nagging vacuum leak and it might be overkill, but it is going to work great with a cam and some headwork.

Where is the vacuum leak? Most likely seems to be either the inlet manifold or VOES hose.

1. Intake seals dried out...replaced but did not know about leak #4
2. Wrong intake flanges with SE-44...did not align with head ports correctly
3. Vacuum petcock was leaking vacuum...tried rebuild, then replaced with manual petcock
4. Original intake flanges warped...got new ones

The only thing that was easy to verify was the warped intake flanges...and I do not know why it took me so long to look at that.

I have trouble with #4 unless they were the wrong flanges to start with .. (#2) Then they might have gotten bent on assembly..
