i am getting ready to buy a punch/chisel set. maybe the dasco set below.
does any one know the size of a float pin in a cv carb? are there different pin sizes through the years?
after some research, looks like the 1/16 (1.7mm) punch might be small enough.
willing to bet it will take a 1/32 punch though.

Can't help with the exact size of the float pin but the punch I use for removal is 3/32 and the pin is a little bigger (CV40)
That's a good looking set although I'm not familiar with that brand and I can't read the sizes. I'm sure one of those would be suitable.

 

Also, the pin only gets removed in one direction. There is an arrow cast in the body showing you the direction of removal so heads up. Yd

 

thanks guys, thinking the size was really small. did not want to take carb apart to see for sure.
dasco has cheap priced tool, pretty strong/solid punches and chisels though.
