Default 88 to 98 jetting

06 heritage with v&h longshots, stage 1 air cleaner doing the fm 98 big bore with 555 cams. Any ideas on where to start with jetting? Located in NE Texas and FM was no help as they are computer tuners.
Still has stock 40 mm cv carb but if needed I'm browsing eBay at the 44 mm cv.
Thanks for any input on suggestions.

I'd be getting a Mikuni HSR42. You will be able to use the stock intake manifold/air cleaner stuff, and it's a much nicer carb than either CV. Throttle response blows away a CV, and you'll find it easier to get tuned in spot on.

I have read that several times now that the HSR is a more responsive and easy to tune carb. My issue is this bike gets ridden. I may take off and end up in New Orleans or Aspen, hince I like the reliability of the cv.
As of now it is running pretty well with a 48 pilot, 2 brass washers under the needle, and a 190 main.
I did have ti contact Hillside Cycle and have them send me a programmable ignition due to excessive detonation.
Plan on getting on a dyno as soon as I find one in the east Texas area comfortable with carbs. Seems the computer era has taken over.

yep....around a 48 pilot and 190-200 main jet will get you bloody close.

Any more and yu need a dyno pull to see the AF mix or fit a wideband O2 and logger.

Actually....a 200 main may be too big, but start there anyway as its safer running too rich than too lean. You might end up between 180-200 somewhere.
