Default Custom bike dies when down to 1/4 tank

So I built this bike with flatside tanks. I have a Carl's Speed Shop Typhoon carb on it. I also have a high flow Pingel petcock. The problem is that when the gas level gets down to where you would think it should go on reserve, the engine dies, and going to reserve doesn't help. It's like the gas just stops flowing. I have had the tanks off, cleaned the screen of the petcock, blown back through the petcock with it in the ON and RESERVE positions and it seems to work as it should.

As soon as I put a gallon or so more gas in it, it starts up fine again. I have vented right side fuel cap but don't think it's bad because I would think it would never fun if not vented properly.

At a loss.

It’s the Pingel, it is either screwed in too far or its “sized” (as in gallons) for a different tank.
Think about it, how does the Pingel know how much gas is in the tank?

Well the petcock basically has 2 "tubes"; one longer and one shorter. When the gas level goes below the longer tube, gas will stop flowing until you go on Reserve which opens the shorter tube to allow the remaining fuel in the tank to be drained.

Thanks anyway.

OK, so your satisfied that Pingle is working as it should?
Try opening the Gas cap. It may be the tank is "vacium" locked and you need to vent the cap.

I am in agreement with perhaps the cap not being vented correctly.

Just a guess maybe long tube of petcock is in the reserve spot or a gravity issue, fuel will only go slightly up hill to a certain level.
