I am working on a 2005 1200 custom for a elderly family friend that has sat in a barn since 2005 and only has 116 miles on it. motor is all stock with the only upgrades being SE mufflers, SE air cleaner kit. I cleaned the main jet (180) main jet holder, and the pilot jet (42) clean gas and new plugs. It fired right up and idles great. just a little throttle and it wants to die. I have a little carb experience but not much, also I do not have a manual for this bike, but do have one for my 99 RK which should be similar. i'm pretty sure that something, probably in the cab, needs cleaned but need help figuring out which direction to go. I don't have a understanding of which jet does what.

Never mind. I got it going. took the carb apart and recleaned the jets. The accelerator pump felt like it was stuck so I worked the rod back and forth a little bit, and poured a little seafoam in it, then dumped it out. hooked it all back up and she is running great. took about a 3 mile ride and it didn't miss a beat. will ride it more tomorrow after I have changed the tranny fluid.
