Default cv carb pulling gas from main jet at idle

Hi, guys its been awhile since I have been on here.I have a problem with my '93 fxdwg's carb. It has a 2005 cv carb on it with 45/180 jets, cv performance needle and spring and the stock slide. It also has a big sucker air cleaner and slip ons on the factory exhaust and the motor is stock. The problem i'm having is that while idling the carb it pulling gas from the main jet and giving it a uneven idle sound and when decelerating it pops out the exhaust from the extra gas being dumped into the exhaust.I have tried adjusting the float with no luck.when i turn off the gas while idling it still pulls gas thru the main jet until it runs out.I have also tried cleaning the passages out with carb cleaner with the carb off the bike and I set the float to the factory setting according to the h-d manual.the problem still remains.I'm not sure what to do?

You are not pulling gas through the main jet at idle.

Have you disassembled the carburetor and cleaned it?

Check for an intake leak.

Check your cable adjustments. If your cable adjustment is to tight, then this can happen. You actually see fuel being sucked into the carb from the area where the needle enters the needle jet?

I have seen this before on my bike and would have thought it was a worn needle jet, but mine was brand new. New needle also.

After I adjusted my cables so they did not apply tension at idle (holding it open), all was good with mine. My idle is at about 950 and is adjusted using the idle screw only with the actual throttle cables loose. Then I adjusted the cables per factory manual.

I knew my cable needed adjustment because the idle speed would change when turning the handle bars. YD

Is the steel jet that guides the needle missing or up side down?

The fuel will not be going through the main jet until the throttle is open about 3/4.

Fuel can overflow into the carb if the needle valve is not seated (and the carb is one that has no overflow hose).
