Default Help Identifying This Classic Please

I'm looking for someone that may be able to help identify the year/model of this bike. Any information on valuation, both as is or restored, would also be appreciated.

You can see from the pics that it only has 897 miles on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Possibly an Aermacchi model, but I can't seem to place it....here are some similar types..

1966 Aermacchi Sprint

This one is very close, but not exact..

Probably the closest I've found, 1970 Aermacchi M65. But I believe the one in my photo above to be older than 1970

Calling that a classic is a stretch.

Thank you for your entirely unhelpful response, Big Dawg. No need to troll me.

By definition, a 40+ year old bike is an antique (read, Classic). If it fits better elsewhere, the moderators are free to relocate the thread.

Thank you.

it is not american made...therefore not going to be a lot of interest in it from the forum members. it was typical moco trying to make a buck anyway they can--import something and slap their name on it. seems like i do remember jay springsteen racing one on the short tracks, as the XR750 was not competitive against the light weight 2 strokes of that era.

Try this VIN decoder. http://www.aermacchi-world.de/vin.html

My gut says mid 60's. I don't know those as well as I know the SS/SX bikes.

Looks like a 65 Aermacchi/Harley M65S, however the pinstriping seems a bit off. Look around here:

http://www.aermacchi-world.de/Frameset.htm

They are fun little 2 strokes made in Italy. I have several, great bikes for kids. They are not worth a ton, I'd probably pay 500-750 for that one.

The ones made by Aermacchi that seem to fetch the most money are the 72 MC-65 and 73-75 X-90 minibike models. In great shape they can go for 3000+

Don't know if anyone is still interested, but it appears to be the predecessor to the M65 or Leggero 65cc bike. If I remember correctly, it was a 50cc bike, and the only color I ever saw it in was a medium brown color. I remember because I wanted one really bad. Dad made me wait a bit and finally got me a red 65cc Leggero. Similarly shaped tank.
