Default Conversion

So, I have a question... If this isn't the best place to put this thread, please direct me to the right one and I'll edit this....

My bike is on the left, it's a 09 Sportster Iron 883. How hard would it be to convert it to the bike on the right?

Here's my thing, I wanted to build a "classic-esqe" bobber, always have. I bought the Sporty and now that I'm about to pay it off, I was thinking of starting the build, but that would entail doing it from the frame up. See, I would a Shovelhead power bobber, hardtail conversion, and the look and feel of the bike on the right.

Basically, what would be cheaper? The frame up build, or the conversion? Also, is that conversion even possible on my bike?

Any advice and help would be awesome and much appreciated.

A weld on rigid tail section, oil tank & battery box and a springer front end would be about as close as you can get to that with your sportster. It would look good

You do realise that the second bike is a Twin Cam softail and you have an evo sporty????

Its going to be far more cost effective to sell that sporty and buy a softail - you should be able to hunt up a nice evo one for about $4500 and start with that

IF you just want a rigid sporty there are numerous suppliers of weld on sections - some OK some look like **** but you will be spending $ you'll NEVER get back and you'll never achieve your aim

Good luck with whatever you do

You could easily remove the gas cap,and roll a different bike under it.
