Motor sat in the garage for months before I chose a frame. Motor, trany, primary, starter, clutch and sprocket were all purchased together on ebay for $2300.00
Frame was new from KC international for $1,100.00
wheels came from Jireh Cycles, around $275.00
Tires from Motorcycle superstore, less than $400.00
Tank was way too much but had to have it $380.00
Mikuni carb, new from American classic motors $630.00
Ultima ignition new, $177.00
totals $5262.00
then all the other parts shocks, bars, wires, etc. totals up to around $600.00
Considering other incidentals I forgot, I couldn't have spent more than $6500.00 in all the parts, paint, etc.
I did all the work myself, so no $$ spent there.
Parts were all purchased over time as the money was there. People always say to me, "I wish I had the money to build one" and I always tell them; buy parts as you can and keep after it. Don't quit, take your time.
Each bike I've built has taken close to a year from start to finish. It's worth it!

How hard was it to get it titled in Tx. Here in NJ the last bike I built I had to jump through hoops to get it titled. Inspections with fake parts that would be all DOT approved etc.

Easy here in Texas, just MSO on frame and Bill of sale for motor. Insurance can be tricky, I go liability only with progressive, no hassle. DMV takes a little while, but that's only because they don't do special construction often.

Almost a year now, it's proven to be a solid motor. The ev-51 cam and flat top pistons work fine with the shaved heads. Compression is near 175, both cylinders measure identical, premium fuel is fine.

Yeah, I was glad too, not a lot of places to pass on these roads.
What are you waiting on with your motor?
