Last bike show I went to, I couldn't believe the number of people walking around in shiny clean leather without a bug on them anywhere. Makes me shake my head.
I hear you. Can't tell you how often I'm the only one without a fairing or windshield. Being a "biker" sure has changed from when I was a kid.

Default 96"Evo build.....

I know I said I'd post once I got it all back together. I guess I kind of forgot SORRY, graulty.... it is a screamer. The torque starts @ about 86lbs@2500 RPM and his 100 lbs by 2800 rpm... It carries out well till about 5100 then I lose everything kind of drops you off. I believe my Super E carb is way too small for this build, so this winter I'll be putting on a Super G carb and see what that does. I also installed the set of Supertrapps on it. They make a huge difference in the bottom end there's no questioning their ability to help extend the power range of any build pretty impressed with them... I might have to tear it back down again having problems with the starter drive not engaging on the ring gear again. This is like the 5th time within a two year old Baker drivetrain primary belt drive, and I also developed crankshaft main seal leak on the primary side so it looks like I'm going to be doing more digging this winter never ends does it.... Here's the dunno sheet is with a Woods W8 cam...

Wow, sometimes it never ends huh. Chasing the perfect performance is like hunting the white buffalo! Too bad about the leak, unless you enjoy taking it apart and putting it back together (which I can see being fun). At least it's fall and not spring!
I had a problem with the jack shaft on my twin cam project; wound up shimming the starter a bit, no problem after that.
Good luck with the repairs.

Yeah not as crazy about it anymore. Seems like the thrill is gone... But I will still tinker and repair what I can. I just don't think I'm going to go that crazy anymore.... I have my 77 FXE to mess with now.... New love....
