buddy i kind of agree for 16,000 you can probably pick up what you are looking for. either that or start with a basket or even a rat pan. with a rat usually all the parts are there and while disassembling take all the nuts and bolts and put them in brown paper candy bags and mark them for location and use like rear fender mounts and so on. take detailed photos of all areas that way you will have assembly plan when you begin to reassemble. as long as you stick with oem you shold not have to do a mock up if you are going chopper is suggest you consider that a fully restored pan will bring a better price upon selling. good luck an old biker in rhode island. p.s. get a shop manual before you do anything.
