Default Fingernail polish remover

A couple of months ago I brushed against my hot pipe with a microfiber cloth. I tried everything I could think of to remove the melted gunk with no success. Today I used fingernail polish remover and a scotch bright kitchen pad and it came clean. It took a little time, but it came clean with no damage to my chrome. Just FYI in case his helps someone.
