How Do You Wash & Detail Your Bike?
Hey all, I'm just curious how others here wash & detail their bikes. I know there are a lot of different methods/ products out there so I want to know what works best for you.
Here's how I normally wash and detail:
1. I rinse the bike down with a garden hose.
2. Using 2 buckets (One for soapy water and one with just clean water) I take a lambswool mitt and scrub the entire bike down, rinsing the mitt in the clean water bucket before dunking it back in the soapy water. (I use meguiars gold class car wash)
3. I spray down the bike completely with the garden hose.
4. I use a sham and a leaf blower to completely dry the bike and get into all the hard to reach nooks.
5. Once the bike is completely dry I use a liquid prewax and hand wax the bike, once the wax is dry I buff it out using a microfiber cloth.
6. Next I hand wax using a finishing paste wax and once dry buff again with a microfiber cloth.
7. After that I use a metal paste polish for all the chrome and buff it again.
8. Finally I finish all the chrome off with a product called never dull, which leaves the chrome looking extra shiny on top of the polish.
So that's my normal method, it always leaves my bike looking brand new and shiny.
What do you guys do? Any tips or tricks you've learned along the way?
