Default Melted Microfiber Towel on Exhaust!

Great, just great! Dropped a microfiber towel on my bike's hot exhaust. Now have a mirror image of the fiber weave on the exhaust. Any suggestions as to how to get the melted fibers off? Thanks.

You can scrape anything off the chrome using a copper coin.

Sounds crazy I know, but try it, it works, boot marks or road tar just comes straight off using a copper coin.

Try it underneath if you dont believe me.

I did and it works. I followed with a light buff with Wenol and all is well, maybe even brighter than before the mishap. Thanks.

Glad to hear it..

as part of my regular clean I check the pipes for tar and use the same treatment, just to stay ahead of the build up, maybe you should to.

Since our roads are always under construction, I check my bike every few rides for grime, tar, bugs, etc. So, thanks for the reminder - I need to go to the garage and check again.

What year did they stop making pennies out of copper? Or what year is the last year of the copper penny?

A couple years ago I think. Hit one with a bernz torch and watch how fast it melts.

OK i had some melted crap on the Cobra pipes on my wifes Suzuki and i wasn't sure how to take it off...Called Cobra and he says Oh just use Oven cleaner...just make sure it's the "COLD" kind not the kind you turn the oven on... spray it on let it sit a while and scrub it with a no scratch pad like 3M OR steal the old lady's dish scrubber....Worked pretty good...It looked like a rain suit had melted on the chrome and burnt black...Sold the pipes on EBAY and the customer never noticed....
