Default chrome rusting issues

I have a good amount of chrome on my bike, like most and when i got it i used some neverdull on it to get the rust off the chrome. Now it's rusting again and i don't know what to use to get it clean and also to protect it, especially on the high temp area like the exhaust. I hope i didn't screw it up by using the neverdull on it! Please help.

I have always used Mother's Chrome polish to seal any rubbing compound usage. It's worked like a charm, but with anything, you'll have to re-apply every year or two.

Hope you have a dry place to park it when it's not in use. you might try a dehum.to get rid of extra moisture!

I think that's my problem. i work on the coast and it gets pretty foggy! plus i have to park it in my carport and with the rainy season coming!!! doesn't look good. I polished it two days ago and i found alot of areas that are eating through the chrome..... i polished it with neverdull and then put a coat of wax on it to try to seal it in!

CB- you might try a product I use on all my boat brightwork called Woody Wax. Although I dont have my cycle yet it has done me very well on all the brightwork on my boat. I have all types of chrome plated brass, stainless, bronze etc . And it works well on plastics also. It is kinda pricey, 30 bucks for a qt of spray on, but you will see as soon as you wipe it on, you see the metal instantly change and shine like hell and protect and seal it. I buy mine at any marine store like west, boaters world etc. If you are garaging in that salty environment you might want to give er a try. i swear by it.

My RK ws a rust bucket when I bought it used. My hot rod building uncle told me "accessory" chrome will "rust"- get rid of it or get over it. I used nevrdull till my fingers were sore- never have had a problem and my rust for the most part is GONE. I "wax" it with rejex a couple of times a year and the majority of the rust nevers has come back- I still get a spot or two here or there, but the nevr dull works great to remove it.

This is what I have found works best to clean and protect it. I live in a high humidity area of south Florida.

The kit that has 3 items for 24.95. I use those products. The tube is concentrate and best for polished alunimum. The bottle of polish I use on the chrome and paint about twice a year. Then I use the protector after using the polish.

I went to my local Napa dealer (I know the owner) and showed him the website and had him order some. Now he stocks it and all my buddies use it. It will really shine up chrome wheels or aluminum wheels on your car also.

Here are a couple of pics of my 11 yr old bike that I have been using this stuff on for about 5 yrs.
