I found this to be a good article as a primer on the different types of products available: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...shing-wax.html

Color sand and buff using the standard method if the clear is thick enough...I'd be REAL careful about that if I didn't personally know how much clear was applied, and that includes the OEM finish, as well as most OEM finishes...it's been my observation that they are VERY thin... this will give you that high shine, then it's just a matter of bringing out the final bit of flash and maintaining that.
At the moment, I like Meguiar's Black Wax...has a tiny bit of abrasive in it to maintain the buffed look...any quality wax seems to work the same, there really isn't a whole lot of difference between any of the higher quality stuff...the smaller specialty wax shops seem to have some of the best waxes...the key isn't so much the brand, but rather the interval that you wax the finish...every couple months works for me, some do it twice a year...I use a Kozak cloth to keep the dust off.

I've been using Collonite 845 on my cars for a few years now and it's fantastic. I did my first detail on my bike a few weeks ago (after the dealer's) and used it. It lasts forever, and if you want a deeper carnuba shine you can top coat with that also. I wash with a Optimium No Rinse in a spray bottle cut 1:32 and dry with a micro-fiber and quick detailer or spray wax. My next full detail will include a Dawn wash to remove existing wax, clay bar, and then a coat of Collonite.
