Did some paint correction work on my Wide Glide
So I just picked up this 2010 Dyna Wide Glide last week, and being that I have my own part time detailing business the condition of the paint was driving me crazy. I really didn't take many pics of the process like I do with clients cars or bikes. But here are a few crappy cell phone pics I took during the process.
Swirls like this drive me crazy
This was after my first test spot using CarPro Reflect on a blue pad. I was not happy with these results and ended up 2 stepping it and used Menzerna FG400 followed up by Reflect on my Rupes mini.
Half the tank uncorrected.
After polishing with just the FG400 on my Rupes mini
Here is the finished product after compounding and polishing.
After this the bike was wiped down with CarPro Eraser and coated with 2 coats of Americoat. This is the only picture I have on my phone from afterwards. I will post up a few more pics once I get home.

Coatings have been around for quite awhile, however lately there have been more and more hitting the market. Americoat is a true Silica coating, that provides a very glossy finish that beads water like crazy. It makes cleaning the bike very easy. There are plenty of cars and even bikes out there that have coatings for over 2 years that are still performing amazing. The key is proper maintenance of the coating also. There is tons of info to read on coatings if you google it.

The Rupes are great machines and all I use. I have the 15 which I use with 5.5" pads and the mini which I use on bikes and tighter areas on cars with 3" pads. I like them because they require very little pressure due to the larger throw, and they are also very smooth.
