Default Wheel and tire insurance

Hey you guys with 21" laced rims. Dealers trying to sell me this insurance on a new WG, he claims they're as brittle as a potato chips in an elephant cage. I'm in NYC where the streets have small craters posing as potholes. Think it's worth it?

It's a high profit dealer markup. Don't buy it.
If the 21" wheel was that fragile, HD would forever be in lawsuits and defending itself product liability court.
Just avoid and ride around the potholes.

There have only been two times I wished I had something like this. Both times I got home on a new bike and ate a nail. Otherwise a waste for me.

I like the extended warranty/insurance as that is a way for me to guaranty I will have zero issues.

They offered me the same thing when I bought my WG, and I didn't buy it. 10k later and zero issues. Money well kept.

Plain and simple answer, Salesman should go back to selling vacuum cleaners since he doesn't know **** about motorcycles.

the spoke wheels are very strong & light actually, that's why they are used on dirt bikes, but you have to check the spokes periodically to make sure they aren't loose.

how much was the tire/ wheel insurance??

if it's only $50 a year then year I'd say it be worth it, any tire shop sells insurance on tires incase you get a flat, which really sucks on a motorcycle since the labor to install a tire costs more than the tire itself.

For $400 a year I would be aiming for the pot holes

They maybe, but the spokes on my 08, rusted about 2 months out of the dealers lot. They wouldn't deal with it.

My '10 has nasty spokes as well. If they were stainless, this wouldn't be a problem.

Other than that, I wouldn't worry about "wheel and tire insurance".
