My new FXDF!

Hey Sharkman, tried to send a PM but your box is full, so it would not send. Anyway, my question is whether or not you see a problem with extended shocks(13" in my case) interfering with the lower shock bolt. I have conflicting info from 2 other Bob Cat owners on whether or not the end of the Bob Cat pipe would hit there or not.
Hope you are still enjoying your bike, any new thoughts after riding awhile?

I put 13" shocks on mine last week and at first the Bobcat DID interfere with the lower shock bolt - but only when the bike was unloaded. It was absolutely fine as soon as the suspension was compressed at all.
However, there is enough "wiggle room" in the header to muffler joint of the Bobcat, and the mounting bracket to adjust it so it does not interfere even unloaded. Mine now has about a 4-5mm gap when the bike has nobody on it, and obviously once you load it or compress the suspension in any way, that gap gets bigger.
If I actually fully unload the bike by lifting the rear on a jack, then it still DOES touch the end of the pipe - but only just. I think I could adjust it a little more so it doesn't do this, but in the first instance I just wanted to go ride with the new shocks.

Really great info, thanks! What do you think about going over a large bump that really unloads the rear wheel - wonder if that could be worse than just lifting the rear tire with a lift? Do you think if it hit the pipe pretty hard, would it be just a graze or could it punch it hard?
