Same here, looks like the moco machined it down for clearance. I would not attempt to alter that in any way weather it is chain slap or moco intent.
Agreed and to be more descriptive not that it means a damned thing but interesting to note. It's clearly machined with the side cut of an end mill and there is a primary chain drag mark on it as well.
