Default Cone air filter and forward controls

I have a '13 street bob and getting ready to customize it. Wanting to put the se cone air filter on the bike just wondering if anyone has had an issue with it being in the way of their knee with forwards? Thanks

I cant comment on the forward controls but I f you are thinking of a forward facing air cleaner you should consider the DK 636. It does not pump hot oily air back into your engine like the SE set-up does. Go to DK customs website and check out their air cleaners

I end up leaning the inside of my leg just below my knee cap against the elbow joint that the filter mounts to. it doesn't bother me, but it does stick out a little farther than the stock type of air filter so you might notice it at first but I don't think it has effected my comfort at all when riding.

Any customizing results in compromises and consequences. You like the look, you make adjustments to live with it.

I had it on my bike for a while then went with DK's low profile round one. To me the SE was just too big and took up too much real estate. I think they look awesome, but for me on my bike it was just overkill.

I run forward controls and went with the S&S Super air cleaner for a couple of reasons. I do like the look of the forward facing filter set ups but I was told that all the air hitting that open filter at speed isn't really what you want in a performance set up. Don't know why, will have to do a little research and ask the guys that do the dyno turning. My experience with the S&S and forwards is great, don't even touch the filter when riding. Good luck.

I am running the Screamin Eagle on my Super Glide with floorboards because I have more room with it than I did with the stock "teardrop" air filter. I put it on with the stock mid controls just to gain the clearance for my knee.
