Default New 5-3/4 daymaker led headlight

Has anyone used this since they redesigned it? I had the original in my last SB and liked it okay, but was a little disappointed with it. Just wonder if the new one is any better. Also, where is the best place to order one? I bought my last one online brand new from Newcastle I think for like $275. Was a much better deal than my local HD stealership. Thanks guys. Pics would also be awesome!

I put one in this past summer, I like the light pattern, light color and brightness much better than stock. Was plug and play, pricey but got mine from HD.

I installed one a couple days ago, and I'm stoked. I ride to work at o'dark-thrity, and even though I had the Osram Rally halogen bulb, that little 5-3/4" headlight wasn't giving me the warm and fuzzies. Part of my 30 mile commute is through some rural areas that don't have any street lights. Outrunning my headlight was a big concern, but we're good now.
No pics, but the light pattern fills in the edges as well as putting a nice amount of light down the road. I never ran the old LED head light, but I seem to remember that some riders complained about the light fill towards the side of the road. The pattern on this one seems to be as wide as a car's is with 2 headlights.
Expensive, yeah, but I'd buy it again.

The JW Speaker LED headlight is the same as the one HD sells and costs less. Here is a link: http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/he...product=500027

Well, this thread isn't about the JW Speaker headlight, but...
Which one? The 8630? It doesn't look the same. How is it cheaper? I paid $330 at Surdyke. I can't find the 8630 for less than that.

I bought mine a few months ago and it's worth every penny...you can't put a price on safety. In my opinion, the stock headlight is insufficient on rural roads with no street lights.

The only difference between the JW Speaker product and the HD product is that the HD product has an HD logo. JW Speaker manufactures the headlights for HD.

So where is it available cheaper than what I paid for the H-D light?

Good question. I trust that you've not been able to find the JW Speaker light for less than you paid. A friend told me he paid $275 for a JW Speaker but that was a year ago, and no, I don't know where he bought it. Perhaps retailers have caught on to how low their prices on the JW Speaker product were, and reacted accordingly.
