Default lowered bike scraps pipe

I'm short short right. So I lowered my rear springs to the 11" progressives 412s. But now my thunderheaders scrap. Is there a fix to this. Maybe like a scrap pad on the pipe. Or a performance pipe built for lowered bikes. I hate wasting money but I don't want to use the progressives if they are going to ruin my 800$ performance pipes.

Would d and d or basini br a better fit for a lowered dyna

Seen this many times here. It's scraping in the mid/frontal section, right? No other fix than going back to 12" or higher. The Bassani might bet better (looks to be a bit higher than the D&D and thunder).

Lowering bikes has consequences, almost all negative. You're going to have to put a different pipe on there, or raise the bike back up.

That's about the size of it. I just decided to let go of my Pro Pipe for that (and one other) reason, and I have 11.5" shocks (though with relatively long travel). Grind pads are okay on floorboards since they can pivot upward on contact. Not so good on a pipe.

Bassani 2-into-1 pipes have a reputation for better clearance than the Thunderheader or Pro Pipe, but I haven't tried one. I went back to an old Rush Crossover I had, but if I wanted another 2:1, I'd go Bassani.

Did you mean rineharts crossover? I'm looking into those. How is that performance compared to the thunder header?

You can move to mid controls and cut and twist the thunderheader.

Lowering the bike and performance don't really go together. If you want better performance, you probably also want more suspension travel - and Harleys are fairly challenged with that to start with.

But there are issues both ways. I put Hagon Nitro rear shocks on the bike this week. 13", so 1" longer than stock. The handling is much improved, but the bottom of the rear shock was then interfering with the end cap of my D&D Bobcat exhaust. A bit of messing around with the exhaust fixed it.

Just saying, either way you go you need to consider the implications.
