Default Front end swap complete

I have posted a little while back when I was installing a 1970's FLH Nacelle, I had fabbed my own nacelle bracket to try and make it work a a Wideglide front end, it worked but wasn't happy, so after getting some assistance from forum member Sonnydaze who has a similar build I decided to buy 70's FLH trees and do it right. Here are the specs, 2002 FXD, old style triple trees, old FLH Nacelle, 2 inch over cow bells, stock Dyna widegle lower sliders and fork tubes, progressive lower kit lowered 2 inches, Heritage front wheel and FL style front fender designed for FX wideglides, passing lamps and brackets from old FLH, 2002 turn signals mounted using the brackets for handlebar mounting

Looking good. What length fork tubes did you settle on? I am collecting parts to switch mine over to Softail front end (so I can keep my Softail light bar, fender and windshield setup). I am looking at 22.25". Also, did any modifications to the 41mm tubes need to be done? i.e. where they too soft etc?

Looks great! Did you have to do any modifications to the frame or the trees to do the swap?

I used the stock FXDWG fork tubes at 22 1/4 with stock FXDWG sliders and installed a 2 inch lowering kit, With the progressives it handles nice does not nose dive when breaking and just the right firmness, also used stock fork oil

AFMM3 , if you used tubes and lowers for a Heritage and triple trees from 70 to early 80's FLH you would then be able to use the Nacelle and reuse your fender not sure about the windshield and light bar, spacing between mounts is 6.5 on the FLH trees , I went with the FLH trees as it gives me more turning radius since the tubes are pushed out a little further from the neck than the Heritage style, grinding of the fork stops needs to be done to get full turning radius as would the Heritage trees.

Did have to grind the lower Tree stops to get full turning radius, same procedure that others have done to install Fatboy trees on there bikes

Also had to remove some of the fork stop on the neck, after removing some material it still worked with the stock tree
