Default FXDC handlebars on FXDL

So I am looking to get some more pullback on my 2008 Lowrider. I have the measurements of most harley handlebars. The FXDL bars are 5" high, 31" wide with 9" of pullback. The FXDC bars are 6.5" high, 30.5 wide with 11" of of pullback. Has anyone done this swap.

Also considering the CVO Breakout bars which are 7.5" high, 33" wide with 12" of pullback.

Great question. I have an '07 Low Rider and am looking for the same thing. With everyone going to apes the FXDC bars should be cheap enough to just buy and try.

I hate chasing bars. Lord only knows all the bars I have bought, tried and sold through the years.

Default FXDC Bars

I installed FXDC bars on my street bob because I hated the the mini apes (buck horns) and wanted something lower and more comfortable. I haven't ridden with FXDLI bars, ever, but I have more control with the FXDC bars by far.

That's funny, I have an FXDC and recently swapped the stock for 14" apes. I think the apes have better handling...but to each is own.

To the OP (or anyone else), i think i still have my stock bars around somewhere. If you're interested shoot me a PM.

I have a 2009 FXDC and a friend has a 2009 FXDL.. The FXDC bars are much more comfortable and
we're planning to swap hers out for an FXDC set. I also use a 4 1/2" curved riser to raise them more
and bring them back a bit further to help with my screwed up left shoulder.

I took the stock FXDC bars off within a week felt like riding a wheel barrow, now have black XLCH bars with angled risers, extremely comfortable.

Kacowboy, I sent you an email through the forum. Not sure exactly how that works, but I hope you get it. If not, then I guess I can open up an ad in the classifieds section.

And then compare this to the Extreme Reduced Reach 56102-99:

Extensively tested with a panel of riders between 5'-0" to 5'-5" tall, this Super Reduced Reach Handlebar and recommended riser combination was proven to be the most ergonomically pleasing handlebar for many DynaŽ and SoftailŽ models.
  • Shaped to provide the ideal balance of pull back and width
  • Produces an overall pull back of 11", and a tip-to-tip width of 30" when combined with Curved Riser Kit P/N 56266-09 (sold separately)
  • Hands fall naturally in place, and the narrow width reduces your stretch while making low-speed turns and parking lot maneuvers
  • See More Info tab for additional components required for installation

Edit: Without the 'curved risers' 56266-09 (sold separately) the HD Extreme Reduced Reach bar is really 5.25" rise, 9.25" pullback and a 30.0" width. BFD
