I was curious if anyone else has had a oil stain appear from the cylinder studs that are on the spark plug side of the motor. I put 200 miles on it and the stain has appeared. Funny thing is that my GF bought a 2015 roadglide and the same thing has happened to her. I'm taking it back to dealer tomorrow to see what they say. My GF took hers to her dealership and they told her to ride it until the 1000 mile service. What gives with the new mc?
I would suggest you clean the oil stain off completely and see if it reappears,,,if it does I would not wait for any 1K mile service crap. Start bugging them about the problem,,this time of the year the service dept should not be that busy so there is no excuse for them to not have time to address the issue.
It's most likely just assembly lube from the MOCO that's gotten hot enough to start seeping out. It should wash away pretty easily but yeah keep an eye on it for awhile.
Keep cleaning it off. If it doesn't stop re-appearing then you know it's something more than assembly lube. Oh and btw, I have not seen anything like that on my new WG which has about 400 miles on it.
Do a search. The new ones do it. It's assembly lube cooking out from the heat cycles. After a few cleanings, it will go away. Wash it when cold with some dish detergent and a paintbrush in that area and rinse off.
