Let me know how that works out. I'm not afraid to break conventions..

The road snakes in Montana are about the size of anacondas; instead of being relatively flat as
they are where we live, they are up to 1" high and a couple of them scared the **** out of
me last year by almost snatching the bars out of my grip. The snakes we have aren't that bad,
but I don't think the MCIIs are as good on them as the Dung-Flops were..

Default which tires

Think about this, the longer a tire last's than another will tell you a little about the compound. A Longer life tire is a herder compound which will affect the amount of traction it will give you. A softer tire will give better traction but will wear quicker. Dunlops are a softer tire but do no have the traction of a Metzler and wear quicker than Metzler's, I've used both, can't speak for C II's never used them also if your ride wanders with grooved pavement or tar snakes than you might want to check front to rear tire alignment as well as rear wheel alignment. My ride stay's it's course..

After reading these replies and digging through a few other threads on these boards it seems you can easily find just about as many people that love each brand as hate it.

Very confusing

OK, I'll let you know if I do it. I'm thinking I'll probably just go with the Metzlers front and rear. I've used those for at least 12 or more years. I usually got somewhere around 10,000 miles on a rear.

OP: opologies for the hijack.

I'm changing out my wheels to 16" front and rear this winter, it will be interesting to see what that does to the handling.

mental image...the feeling of running up on a tar snake when leaned over in a nice deep curve...now that'll make your cajones tingle just a little!

My experience was that my bike with the Metzler 880's was pretty stable in that situation. The C-II's: not so much.

after 26k and 4 sets of Scorchers I decided to try the CII's so far 4k and no complaints, ride good, balance good, I like how they grip in the rain. Like another poster said it's all in how you ride and what you like.
