Good eyes my friend! Nuts will be red, screws will be powdercoated black.

Can anyone identify the pipes on my bike by looking at the first pic in the thread? Looks like they had a heat shield on at one time. I want a 2 into 1, but curious what these are before I write them off.

Also, any way to tell if my bike is tuned? I didn't get much info from the previous owner.

how do you smooth out paint ? im guess when you say wet sand with 600 that's where you start , how high of grit do you go ? do you buff and polish in the end ?
I have heard of people doing single stage paint with a brush but never actually seen it . im very impressed . here is a few of my paint jobs , if you cant tell that's the same bike over 20 years

Nice work! With good weather conditions and the right paint/ mineral spirit mix the paint will level out nicely. However I always get a few runs and some orange peel. I lay down 2 coats and sand with 600. 2 more coats and wet sand with 800. I'll put down 6-10 coats, basically until I'm happy, sanding every 2 coats. Haha. I usually end with a 2000/2500 wet sand and then polish. You can get still get good results without the final sanding and polishing if all your previous work has been right. I have not done the final sanding and polish on that front fender because I was very satisfied with the last coat I layed.

Thanks for sharing the paint work with us!
