3 hrs? Never really kept track of work time. Longest part is waiting in between coats. I'm working 15 hrs today and then heading out of town tomorrow, so I'll resume next year. Lol

I think you're nuts, that's a $12k motorcycle and your painting it with a brush and industrial paint? why not just spend a little money and have it professionally painted with a nice metallic color? The rustolemum aint looking so hot, it's got bubbles in it & everything.

No offense to the OP's bike, but a 2007 Street Bob is not a 12k bike.

Always gonna be haters. I read about the Rustoleum paint job in Hot Rod. I get it. I may end up going this route with my Super Glide.

I'm back in the fight. I was away for a while for the holidays. When I returned the weather was crappy for a few weeks.

Just a recap, I layed 2 coats, wet sanded with 600 grit. Applied 2 more coats and wet sanded with 800 grit. Here's a pic after laying the last coat I applied. Still wet. Almost there.

Why am I painting my 8k motorcycle with rustoleum? Because it's mine, it's too easy to send it to a paint shop and pay someone else thousands to do it, it's fun, it's inexpensive, done properly I end up with a great product, the paint is durable and I have the benefit of telling everyone I painted it with a brush (then they look in disbelief).

I've done this before in the past. Now wet sand with some 2000, and then hit it with some good quality polish and wax and it will look great.
