Bassani Road Rage II or D&D Fatcat for wide glide?
Looking at Bassani Road Rage II p/n 1D18R or D&D Fatcat for a 14 Wide Glide. I like the equal length headpipes on the Bassanis I spoke with Bassani and they said that these would be a good match for a 103 with a tune and free flowing air filter. And these would also "leave room to grow" with future mods -cams. How is the quality of Bassani? Their fit, finish, chrome? Do these have a deep tone to them or a tin raspy sound?
The D&D Fatcats have an excellent reputation for quality, fit, finish, and chrome. Are the headpipes equal length? One critisim I have heard about fatcats is their sound -tinny, raspy. Is this accurate about fatcats sound?
Are these pipes fairly similiar in performance? I tend to think the Bassani would be the better performing pipe.

I have the bassani B1 1D18R.
They are for big bore engines. It is one of the best performing exhaust that I have tried. I am presently using them on my 05 super glide.
Warning:
If you have lowered the bike or using 12 inch shocks you may experience scraping on the front downward header on a wide glide. I could not use them on my 2010 wide glide because of the scraping. Remember the 2014 are different, where and how much I have no idea. I switched them to my 05 super glide with a 113. presently we are using V&H big radius 2 into 2.
For sound they are one of the best sounding 2 into 1 exhaust out there.

tough to get a real sense of what those sound like through computer speakers. i have the same pipe, and think that sounds nothing like real life. not attacking dirt here...just saying that's not the best representation. they have a nice deep, full sound for sure. not tinny at all and the fit/finish are really good IMO. i've also heard the fatcat on another person's bike, and other than the fatcat being louder, i didn't think they were tinny at all either. both quality pipes and i don't think you would go wrong either way.
