So I'm toying with the idea of a 23" front wheel on my 11 Wide glide. I'd love to see yours and get any input. Pros, cons ? I like my factory look black hoop and spokes. Dollar wise is it better to buy a whole new wheel or keep my center hub and buy 23"black hoop and new spokes and have it assembled and trued ? $vers.$ I'd also like a wider 5.5"rear rim to run a 200mm.

I have a 23 up front and 17x6 in the rear, on my fxdc. First set up, was with a raked cup set, I felt it was too close to frame. Tried out a 5* raked trees, liked, but felt it set the bike a little low. Plan on now moving up to 26 with the 5* trees and going one understock on the forks. We will see............
With the wideglide you've already got the rake, the 23 looks much better than the tiny stock wheel. Even a 21x3 looks small in comparison to the stock rear. I tried out an 18x5.5 in the rear and at one time and 21x3 laced up to a stock wideglide hub. To me it just looked wrong, the 18 is a big tire. When I tried out the 23 it seemed much more fitting.
If you plan to keep spoke wheels, than get a 23 hoop, find a trashed wheel with a good hub. There are companies that will lace em up for you, I think joe the powder pro can do it here on hdforums. In money terms that would be your least expensive option.
I myself, thought keeping the spoke wheel was the way to go,......but now that I have had a chance to play with different setups, I will be saving up my hard earned pennies for another set of wheels.
