If the other bike was much older is the fuel pump compatible with a modern bike? You did not mention which model/year bike you have.

i have replaced all the fuses and relays, i am taking the bars a part now to check again. i have a 05 dyna lowrider, the pump is the same pump i just took it out of the old tank and put it in the new one. head lights runing and gauge lights work no blinkers. do you have to reset the bank angle sensor?

Harley does have a switch as ynots said, in the event you tip over / the engine cuts out, but I was led to beleive it is likened to a mercury switch and once you lift it up again it reverts back to the run mode. So fuses or a pinched wire possibly even a forgotten or mis plugged wire connector. Loosen you throttle grip and check the wire that goes to the "run" switch, that's what activates the fuel pump.
