Default Yeah I know yet another Ape Hanger question!!!

I know bare with me guys I have to ask a couple dumb newbie questions..

2014 FXDWG with ABS

I have purchased a set of KST 12" outlaws Link! and a set or 3-1/2" risers which is a grand total of 15-1/2" tall bars from the trees. I know stock is a 5" riser and about a 4" bar for a total of 9" tall bars from the tree. This makes a difference of 6-1/2" in bars. I know that I am going to have to replace the ABS line to the front brakes. I was told wiring might reach? (guy at work that installed 16" bars on his 2013 FXDWG) If this is true is it possible the clutch and throttle cables maybe fine to? Just trying to feel

Trust me I did searched (tons of info to sift through) but mainly found bobs and other dynas so here I am with my flame suite on...

I am unsure with your current configuration, but i would try to see if they all fit and if not then measure and order your new cables accordingly. if it does or does not work post it in here

Default Wide glide apes

So Stres is correct that's differently the best way. But to answer your question. No every thing needs to be changed. I have 10" Wild1's with a 2" risers I went plus 4" on the brake could of gone 3. Clutch was plus 3". I tried to reuse my throttle cables but found that the throttle would hang up when it was at full lock left or right so I went plus 3" on those as well and they fit prefect. So sounds like your looking at plus "6. to me. I used Magnum shielding.com

Ok so you went from a 4" bar and 5" riser with a 9" total (stock), to a 10" bar with a 2" riser with a total 12" total. This made your cables have to be 3" longer to fit. Awesome info.. What about wiring? Did you have to extend it as well? (this part really is not that big of a deal)

Just trying to wrap my mind around this.

There should be more than enough wiring from stock to accommodate 12" total rise.

You're good on the wiring. For the last few years, HD has added extra wiring stuffed inside the bars. My Street Bob had about 10" of extra wiring and a friend's WG had about the same.

OK so I have all my parts and haven't installed yet because I had a long trip to make so figured it would be a winter project. With that said a friend brought up a point and I figured I would get your opinion. My bike is under warranty. If I change my bars myself (which was the plan) I would have warranty issues with anything on the bars. If Harley installs then its all covered.

Do you think its worth the almost $900 to install my bars to protect the warranty? I don't have drive by wire so my thought is a lot of small parts (switches and such) could be bought for $900 price of the install.
