Default Fork seals on a 2013 FatBob?

Is this normal? I have about 12000 miles on my FB and today I blew the fork seals. I was riding home and oil started coming out of the right front fork.
Would this be covered under warranty?

Great! I talked to the dealer he stated that my warranty is good till May! So now I have to get the bike down to the dealership.

Seems kind of sad that the seals only last for 10k?? Hopefully they replace my brake pads on the right side. It was covered in oil.

I did have the bike forks looked at a few day after I purchased it because it was really clunky when I went over bumps.
But all they did was check the oil levels. I'm wondering if I got a bad set of forks?
Hopefully when they rebuild them it'll be good to go!

My warranty is also up in May. Because of things like this Im wondering if its worth extending it.

I have 7200 miles on mine Fat Bob and just noticed when I arrived at work today that my left front fork seal is leaking... Glad I have that extended warranty!

Replaced mine on my '13 FXDF under warranty. When they blew the second time, I had them replaced (by an Indy) with seals made in the USA instead of the made in China ones from HD. Hopefully they will last longer...

Seems kind of sad?

How many posts have you seen on the forums about leaking fork seals on low mileage bikes?

Most of the time they last damn near forever...

I wonder how many failed seals are from people leaving baked on bug guts on the tubes.
