Default 12" drag bars on 2015 street no cable change?

Hey guys new to the forum here its been super, super helpful so far reading everything I have been doing some searches trying to figure out if I can run 12" drag style bars on my 2015 street bob without doing the cable changes. I thought I was going to have to I even bought the cables but then i read were some guys installed 12" bars even with a one inch spacer and didn't change cables?? Any help would be awesome if I could get away with that would save some cash for sure. If anybody knows or has done it would be awesome thanks in advance!

Plenty slack in the Street Bob for your 12" drag bars. I had 13" apes before w/ stock cables and I think there is enough to even goto 14", so you have more than enough for your drags.

Start tearing her down and get'em on!

That's really helpful man thank you, it seemed like there might be enough cable there to do it. I bought a few bars trying to figure out what comfort and style i want. I bought some Todd's cycle 14" Z type bars i wonder if I could get enough cable length there to try them without changing seems like it would be close. Thanks again.

If your have a few bars handy to try out might as well fit'em up once everything is apart and see what you like best.

Quick tip: at 14" you will need to bend your throttle cable elbo housing (silver pieces connected near your grip) from 90 degrees to something a bit more straight downward. Real simple, just do them one at a time and they will gently bend.

Also, take into account how far forward you set your apes as that will also use up some of your slack.

HD Bobber speaks truth. 2014 SB here with 14's and all stock cables. I also bent the throttle cable elbows slightly to give a little more slack.
