Carry a squirt ketchup toe bottle with used engine oil. When you park squirt a drop or two under the engine. Got to get that old school feel going. I keed I keed. Great looking bike, hope you enjoy making it yours.

On the serious side though a set of really narrow buck horn bars would look very old school. Not sure if they are comfy but the look would be right.

Have you tried tying a bandanna around the forks in the rain? That is what I do on my Sportster and it seems to help a bit.

If you want to go "old school" you need a "King and Queen" seat. Take a look at the seats they make at Bar Enterprises http://www.harleyseats.com/. They have some really nice seats that are surprisingly affordable.

As earlier stated, some turned up fishtails would be a nice touch.

Puncture a hole in the crankcase to get that retro leak.

I say drop the back end, 2 over forks (like was said earlier), and the seat/sissy bar are musts also! You picked the right bike in my opinion for a base on a chopper! Half way there already...LOL

Here's my Le Pera Daytona 2 up in Regal. I have since added a taller sissy bar too. Old school cool man.

A true old school King and Queen seat would definitely give that old school flavor to the bike. one of the coolest things about the Gen 2 WG's they are really flexible in the customizing / bolt department.

I think chrome rims are a must for the look you're going for. And maybe a bobtail fender. I think this is a '80 Wide Glide. Not my bike, but I love the way it looks.

Wont just adding a 2" fork tube effect handling and trailing negatively? I have a 18" 240 rear tire with Burly slammers and am putting on a 23" tire up front, but am lowering it 2" to trail stock and handling.
