Cool SE Heavy Breather External Breather Mod

Page 2 has the finished external breather setup done to the SE Heavy Breather.

So w/ all this talk and people rerouting to extrernal breathers it's time I do this to me Screamin Eagle Breather.

I have been reading people tapping AN fitting, plugs, etc.... but here is my simple idea.

Couldn't I just drill a hole just big enough for the hose to just go through and then plug it right into the breather bolt. I would make it real tight to create a real good seal (which is not reall needed anyway since the hose would plug right into the bolt). I will either drill on the bottom or sides like the diagram I made. What size hose do I need to slip right onto the breather bolt??? A 5/16 inner has outer of about .56", which would be the drilled hole size as well?

Am I missing something? Sound like a good plan?

Ive considered pulling the spacers off of my AN breather and just using the stock bolts to do the same.

Problem I see is those bolts hold part of the breather, and its weight.

I ordered the Kuryakyn bluegrass breathers to run up under my tank. Im just gonna have the spacers cut so the breathers will fit.

My idea would use all the stock parts on the SE Breather. I just be drilling a big enough hole to stick hose through it and right over the breather bolt. The caps would still be on the front over the breather to look factory just the under would be a hose coming out of the plate.

Only worry is that the hose won't fit over the stock SE breather bolt and that might not be enough room to bend the hose inside there and out the hole.

Can someone confirm the size of the hose inner diameter?

I think that would work fine, good idea. Definitely no need for the an fittings and braided line for breather hoses. I don't think I'd bend the hose in there though, it would probably kink. I'd try to use some kind of 90 degree elbow.

I don't see why not.

Reason I ask this question to this simple setup is that I have spent some time looking for different routing setups, especially on the SE Breather and people are tapping and adding fittings. I get it that on some it might be the only way/preference, but have not seen this simple setup, let alone many external setups, done on the SE Breather.

When I get more time I'm going to pull it off and really dig into it.

Once you figure out the hoses how are you going to terminate the hoses? Catch can? Vent filter zip tied to the down tubes? I'm a fan of KISS.
