Am I the only person who thinks the opposite. I have a Fat Bob but wonder if a sportster might have been better. The Bob is perfectly comfortable and easy to ride, but I just wonder if a sporster might be more 'flickable' and fun to ride in the twisties. I've never ridden a sportster so I don't know. I'm 5ft 10 and about 168lb.
Your probably not the only one to think it but in this case the OP was asking if he is too big for the bike as he is a big fella...I am 5'11 with a 2010 Wideglide and 14" apes,220lbs and and sometimes I feel a little cramped so thinking of adding 2" extensions to the forwards..
I am 6'1" and 210. I ride a Fat Bob and my friend has a softail slim. I can not be comfortable in anyway on his little bike. The seat is closer to the pegs and the floorboards are even worse. I had a sportster and the dyna is better in the curves.

I'm 5'10" and a friends 2001 Sportster was the first Harley I ever rode. It felt too small for me. When I started test riding Dyna's, they felt perfect to me.
Some of the bagger guys like to talk about the "little" dyna but the fact is that the dyna with forwards has the most legroom of any stock big twin Harley. More than any softail, and more than any of the touring bikes.
I ride a fat Bob. I'm 6'8" 250+ lbs. I put the tall boy seat on and the the forward control extensions and the bike feels and handles amazing. Next I'm going to put on apes for the perfect fit and look.
