Looking to modify an OG ness fairing to fit a 49mm front end, but can't find a damned thing either here or anywhere else on the internet.

Not as much as Gartec's above, but just enough to mount up cleanly.

Does anyone know where I can find some further info? Namely on the headlight relocation and trimming of the fairing.

Thanks dudes.

I modify mine by cut a little piece in the front of plastic around the low triple tree.
After that, with a heat gun by the inside and a piece of 50mm PVC tube, i deform the bottom sides of the fairing for fit around the fork.
You need two pieces of steel with holes for move forward the headlight by 70mm.
For upper sides, it's more complicate. I use 49mm stainless steel brackets for the forks and telescopic fixing with 8mm in 10mm tubes with collars.
Fairing Ness used: 50$.
Parts and paint: 40$.
You can also use turn signal fork clamps for a better look.
This is my work on the picture.

I forgot that http://rifle.com/Collet-Lock-Strut-P2473C548.aspx.
I did not bought it because port was too expensive for Europe.

Ness fairing on my FXLR. I fabricated the brackets to fit the Harley detachable docking points. I can change windshields in seconds.

Look at this thread on Page 4. I describe how I modified a narrow glide ness fairing to a 49mm 2010 FXDC. As I state in my post, if you don't want to go through all the hassle just pay the $350 to Southeast Custom Cycles for their kit. It's even called Modified OG Ness Fairing

Just put on the Conely fairing. Fairing itself is perfect, paint perfect and install was 1.5 hours. I think looks great on the LR

Southeast custom cycles sells a modified of narrow to fit mid glide 49mm front end. Comes with everything you need

It's pre chopped and has all relocation parts needed to make work

You just need to paint it. It's the easiest option but cost more than messing with it yourself
