Default 2015 sweating/leaking base gasket

Ok so 600 miles on the bike. Get home thought I smelled an oily smell. Look at base gaskets and they are sweating. Called dealer and he says they now use O rings and it is assembly lube sweating off the oring during break in period.

They are coming to pick up the bike Tomm and take it in to be sure. Can someone shed some knowledge on the subject as I am used to older Harley with gaskets. Not orings.

It's probably oil/ lube from assembly (oil on the oring and stud threads). I had some sweating on my 13 limited when it was new too. Keep cleaning it off and make sure it's going away, mine did.

Oddly, it may be a good thing that it's even on both, that would support Monsters thoughts on the lube.

It's more a presence than a leak for now and if it was just one cylinder that would maybe be a bad thing.

Now if it starts showing liquid, well that wouldn't be good.

I would degrease it and watch it for a few weeks before I let the dealer touch it. Just my opinion

Yeah. It's my first new bike so I hope it's not a leak. Even though it's under warranty. Will post up the dealers findings tomm

It's assembly lube. Wash it a few times and it'll go away on it's own.

My 2012 FXDC did the same thing. They ran dye in the engine to be sure, but it's just the lube. Clean it off with WD-40. Mine stopped after about 2000 miles.

I would also guess assembly lube. Mine did that too, but it looks like the person assembling yours must of thought it was butter and gooped it on!. After my buddy target64 tore mine down and back up no lube leaked out. But he is not a beginner, he's a real pro!

I wouldn't have it hauled off to the dealer's until I washed it off and rode it a few times keeping an eye on it all the while.
