Default Woods TW-555 Cam with 96ci? anyone running this?

So Im looking to pull the trigger on a new cam for my street bob. Looking at the TW-555 Cam and then eventually a fuel moto 107 kit. looking for some feedback from Anyone out there running the TW-555 with just a 96ci. Dont know if i will get that big of an increase or if i should just wait and get the 107 kit with the TW-777 cam? any thoughts?

I'm running the 555's with my 96ci Fat Bob. I was going to hold off until I did a big bore kit to do cams. I came across a killer deal on them, so I didn't wait. It's an increase in power. They like a little more compression than the stock motor has to really bring them to life but I have no regrets.

Let me know if you have more questions

You'll probably be disappointed with the 555s without a compression increase. The 96 is at around 9.3:1 and I think FM sets up their kits around 10.25:1. How long do you plan to go between cams and 107?

I was thinking of doing the cam right away and then the 107 next riding season, so I would be running the cam with a 96 for 6 or 7 months.

I installed the 555s in a 96" and ran it that way for a few months. Definite increase in upper RPM power, but felt soft in the lower RPM. If you're planning on a displacement and compression increase, they're a great choice.

I went to a 103" with mild ported heads with thinner head gaskets. Really happy with how it runs now.

ran the Tw 555 cams in my stock 96 big loss of performance between 2000-3200 rpms than they came on till the limiter. really noticed it when cruising at 55mph riding two up and rolling on throttle to pass. after having the heads done and compression corrected to 10.2 then she came alive. on the 107 kit are you doing any head work ?

Use the woods 222s untill you do big bore. Thats what im doing. Deffinetly felt a noticable increase in power. And dyno sheets from fuel moto show the 222s perform better then the 555s when left stock. Im just gunna sell my 222s this winter when i do the big bore.
