I've got a '99 FXDWG that I'm starting to tear down and make my my own. I've noticed that my tank and front seat mounting are different than the other early dynas I've managed to catch glimpses of.

How does the front of the '00-'05 seat mount to the bike? those frames don't seem to have the hoop that mine has.

 

Mine's an '05, the front seat tab goes into a space left hollow underneath the rear tank mounting tab.

 

Makes sense. The 99 tank mount is very low. Runs thru the backbone with a welded on saddle to thicken/strenthen the drilled area.
