Default Thinking about a windshield for my LR

Trying to decide between a Memphis shades Del Rio or a HD quick release compact shield. The HD kit looks better due to the QR which leaves nothing on the bike, while the MS leaves clamps on the forks. OTOH the MS is about $150 cheaper. I'm wondering if the quality of the screen is comparable as well. Anyone had both?

Drank the koolaid and got the HD detachable. Oddly, it hasn't come off the bike since...

I have bought three HD QR windsheilds off of eBay. All with clamps and in like new condition with $225 shipped being the most I recently paid. That was for a kinda hard to find more narrow profile Super Sport model with my traditional and compact coming in at about $175ea shipped. New retail is for fools.

The 49mm Dyna clamp size makes selection a little thinner so you have to be careful and patient but worth the savings. The frame has to be for the mid-glide 49mm front end. The earlier 39mm Dyna/Sportster and the 42mm wide-glide will not fit even with 49mm clamps.

I'm guessing the shield itself is replaceable?

All replaceable and swapable for the particular frame. (39/42/49 & tour/ss) Folks even cut down traditional touring and compacts to their liking. Also the polycarbonate polishes out very well.

Bought a del rio for my low rider and hated it. It lasted 1 day. Buffeted my head around so bad I thought I was gonna throw up. Quality was good however. Non-returnable though

If you can score the hardware, check out clearview shields, it's direct fit for the Harley hardware, very nice shields!
