Any Roadster owners here?
Considering adding a Roadster to the garage. Found an 08 with 26K miles on it at a local dealer. I love my Dyna, but think the Roadster would be a fun play bike. I am aware of the differences between mine and the 08, and would appreciate a review from prior or current owners. FWIW, the 08 has FI and the 4.5 gallon tank. Thanks, tomp dd50
I've heard that a Sundowner seat makes a great improvement in comfort. I know it did on my Dyna Custom. tp

In 2005 I bought a new XL-1200R, spent a bunch on accessories and had a lot of fun running around mountain roads with it. However, I was pushing the chassis beyond its limits so traded for something more suitable for fast riding. Roadsters do a better job for spirited riding than Dyna's but they're still lacking compared to recent designs. 90mph on a Tiger 955i feels like 50mph on a Sportster.
However, after a few more years I traded it for my current Dyna. I don't ride as fast anymore and the Dyna's better suited for cruising.
If I had room for another bike, I'd buy an XR-1200 instead of an XL. I was really tempted to get one instead of the '05 FXDL I'm riding.

Thanks for the info. I had an XR1200, and it was a a blast in the twisties, for sure. Rode a 1050 Tiger a while, but never grew to become friends. I'm going to go and take a demo ride on the 08 I saw, on Tuesday.
IZZO QUAZZO, the Roadster is a Sportster model, made between 04-08. Keeping my looking in the Harley family. tomp dd50

The original was a 1000cc iron head 4 speed. It was revived in 04 with an Evo 1200 and 5 speed, with peanut tank until 08, again with the Big Twin styled tank. That's the one, the 08, that has garnered my attention. The peanut tank just doesn't hold enough fuel for me.
