Default Finally some photos - my 2004 FXDL with JD Customs Fairing

I've been on the board for about a year but haven't posted photos as I wanted to get bike to a certain level. I think it's ready for a look, what do you think? [/URL]

JD Customs FXDT repro fairing, Headwinds headlight and indicator relocation panel, Progressive 440's and fork springs, Mustang Fastback seat, Harley Lay back LED taillight, Smoked LED turns, Biltwell Mushman main pegs, custom long aluminum highway & passenger pegs, Harley toolbag, Medium sissy bag with old style padded medallion, small sissy bar bag behind the fairing, various pieces to complete the chrome on black theme as I'm not a fan of blacked out bikes.

I'm probably going to paint the fairing gloss black with grey pin striping to match factory paint and maybe some grey ghost flames. I also need to find a nice leather roll bag to replace the Saddleman (which gives great back support.) Feedback welcome.

Not bad. I like contrast too with black and chrome. Now the feedback. That headlight trim ring looks like a boner coming out the front of your bike. Haha

I agree, looks good but the headlight threw me off.

Nice. Not a trim ring but one piece headlight. I agree that it sticks out a bit and am considering putting a similar 7" headlight if I find one at a good price. That way I'll have a larger boner.

Flip it back to a stock 5 3/4 headlight and it will look awesome.

Thast a nice clean 04, take a look at the Bolt Depot, they have nearly every size chrome bolt you'll need to finish up the look.

Swap that headlight a get it sitting correct in the fairing and you'll have a balanced look

WhT size windshield is that. I'm on the fence of getting a fairing from jd.

Gartec,

That's a 15" smoked screen. I gave Lowen my height and told him what size HD screen I'd been using. He recommended this size and it works perfectly.

I probably need to do something about headlight sticking so far out but not sure what. I can't use stock headlight as it's a top mount and won't work. I don't think I can use a different block without fabricating one from scratch (which i may do yet.). I was also considering switching to a 7" headlight but need to find a good deal on one. I bought that light new for $60 on sale when I found out I needed to switch to a bottom mount and refuse to pay $350 for another.
