Hey XFXDX, bummer on the damage but looks like you are making lemonade out of a lemon for sure! How about orange! I always wanted burnt orange(UT grad) but HD orange was the closest....

Looks like you were still running stock mirrors, if you want to stick with stock I got some sitting in box - would let you have them cheap.

Took a trip to the paint store on Wednesday. Ended up with a pint of some steely blue paint with lots of pearl in it. Took it home and shot some tests, different flakes, clears, and pearls. Ended up with this...

Can't wait to get it back together...

So, what color for the tank lettering? I was thinking I'd use the color I used for the bike last time... A nice black base with some blue flake. Maybe black without any flake would be better? Or...?

I like the color a lot! Are you dead set on lettering on the tank? What style lettering were you thinking?

Sharp color for sure! Think I like the straight black letering, in some kinda of cursive lettering maybe? Don't trust me in artsy stuff though, I an too much of the by the instructions type.

Straight, old school, OG FXDX tank lettering. It just looks so good on these bikes! Thanks to forum member Good Apollo I have a solid PDF.

Really wanna run these, but it's just not gonna work spraying over them. I might stick em on over the clear. Think they'd look real good on that base color!
