Default Another Rebuild

Welp... After layin it down in a roundabout last week, I figured I'd might as well paint it while I handled all the other part swaps.
Still waiting on a list of other parts, but I got my bars and risers in from Big Al's Cycles. Stoked! These homies got the package out the door the same day I ordered the parts. To my door the NEXT working day! Rad. Thanks for that...

Went to work pulling the old DS 12"ers off, and broke one of the deutsch connectors for the hand controls off inside the frame. FU@K! After thoroughly destroying it, I got it out and the wires out of the bars... Mounted the new ones up to get an idea. Way different than the DS solid T's, but that's what I'm after. Stoked! Pretty wide, tho. Gonna take some getting used to.

The two forward Allen head screws they provided aren't long enough to run the gauge mount on top the riser, so off the ACE I go.

Next to come off are the DP bags. Then, front and rear fenders... I'll keep you guys updated.

For color, I'm thinking a nice light - medium blue, slight metallic flake. Nothing like the MoCo's hard candy, and there will be no panelling, or any other rad custom paint... Just an old single color with the factor DX tank lettering.

More pics to come.

-Jeff

You do know that you'll loose 3 hp and 4.6 ft./lbs. of tq if you go with a color other than black, right?

Seriously, looking forward to seeing your updates re the transformation.

Done for today... Maybe a little soldering later. When I put it down, the left bar end folded in at the whole where you thread the wires for the internal wiring... In doing so, it severed 4, or 5, of those wires.

I am selling this sissy bar / back rest / luggage rack set that I painstakingly put together. I put the side plates on never to use any of it. So... Here's what I got. Willing to sell all of it, or part it out. Obviously, I'm more motivated to sell it all. Offers welcomed.

$300, plus shipping.

$50, plus shipping.

$60, plus shipping. Brand new in box, with hardware.

$60, plus shipping. Never even opened it.

$50, plus shipping. Like new, maybe is.

$60, shipped. Each. In like new condition, maybe they are. I dunno. Got me both second hand, looks like they've been mounted but not used.

Haha! I got power to spare, but I think that works the other way around. Flashy colors add, I thought... Oh well, I dunno. 😜 On that note, my painter runs a Mustang shop where he rebuilds old cars, he's got some stock Ford paint laying around that looks rad. It's called, "Marlin Blue". Pretty rad color. He's gonna spray a test panel with a little bit of flake added. Hope it turns out good...

Either way, I'll be happy to have it back on the road.
