If so, then my comparo means very little.

How many here shift @ 5000rpm, on a regular basis? Especially to a cold engine?
I shift mine at 3000-3200 rpm as suggested by my dealership...2015 FatBob, motor seams happier in that range

I received TWO recall notices. One for the '15, and one for the '16!

Both recalls address the ignition switch. The "improved" switch is a little harder to turn, with. Sharper detents. Seem to work ok tho.

Most Harleys I've ridden seem to peter out about 4k rpm. I rode one of the new 103HO Wide Glides earlier this year and it pulled nicely to ~5500 rpm or so. Engine felt and sounded great throughout the range.

Harleys have small intake exhaust runners that promote good torque in the lower/mid RPM range, at the expense of "superior breathing" required for upper RPM range. They literally "run out of breath" in upper rpm's.

I have a 103HO and haven't noticed anything unusual in the upper RPM ranges. Then again, I don't spend much time there either.

yeah i have to agree with these guys...i have a 2015 low rider and i don't shift into 5th until around 60 or 65..cruise it at like 75 in 6th...
