That's such an obvious course of action! I don't know why I didn't think of that.

Email sent. Thanks for the tip!

I got a response from Le Pera today.
Hi Chris,

Thank you for your e-mail.

The LN-001 will fit a 1999 Wide Glide just as is J The pillion pads are different for these models but the solo seats are interchangeable.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

I went ahead and ordered a Le Pera Silhouette Solo last night. So excited to get rid of my couch cushion.

Did you get the gel? I opted for the Mustang Tripper because I was a lil leery bout the reviews on some of the Le Pera saddles. My Tripper should be here tomorrow. Cant wait to see that Silhouette on your bike tho.

Yes. Gel and plain black vinyl. Nothing fancy. I decided I liked the extra stitching and little extra kick up at the rear compared to the Bare Bones.

Got the Silhouette installed tonight. MUCH better seat than the used up factory piece. Definitely stiffer...as expected, but I'm also more comfortable so far. Much less vibration coming thru at all speeds and idle. Just enough rear lip to feel like I'm not sliding off the back. I'd estimate that it drops the seating postion about an inch and moves it back about 2 and the thigh is a couple inches narrower...all compared to the pillow cushion. I'm 6'0" with a 32" inseam and my legs are still bent pretty good; maybe 60 degrees. Reach to the bars is still good. Ridng position is pretty good for me. I'm finding myself adjusting in the saddle less...especially around town in stop/go traffic. There is no more pinch at my tail bone that was quite prominent with the straight back on the previous seat. Much easier to keep my leg away from the exhaust while standing at a stoplight. My knee still rubs the air cleaner badly. The upcoming Sidewinder should fix that. I'll have to adjust my pedals slightly and find some pegs with a bit more bite to keep my boots more firmly planted. The round rubber pegs let them slip down a bit even with fresh lug sole riding boots on.
