New rider obstacles and a question.

New rider obstacles and a question.
After a 25 years break from riding motorcycles I took the plunge and made an impulse purchase of a 2015 Street Bob. Due to my inexperience I decided to take a safety course at the local HD dealer before riding the bike. A couple of weeks later, one hour into the riding portion of the class, my left hand went totally numb . I was unable to finish the class. When the numbness went away I experienced a lot of pain and could not make a fist. My doctor sent me to a specialist and it turns out I had a pretty advanced carpal tunnel syndrome.
So, six months later , after my surgery healing , and many evenings of drooling over the Harley in my garage, I took the bike on a ride last Sunday morning. Needless to say , the bike road beautifully and I felt like a million bucks.
What I did notice is that I could not keep my feet flat on the ground when stopped. If the bike was an inch lower it would really be great . I was thinking of getting a Leather Badlander seat. Do you think that would be the best way to lower it an inch. I am not sure if I want to change suspension or anything just yet .
Are there other low profile seats you would recommend? Keep in mind I am a total newbie and have zero riding experience. Thanks for reading and any recommendation would be appreciated.

My SB had Progressives on it when I bought it, I think they're an inch shorter than stock. I'm 6' with a 32" inseam and I can flatfoot both sides with room to spare. Not sure how tall/long legged you are, but a thinner seat and/or shorter shocks would probably work wonders for you.
As an aside, not being able to flatfoot both feet at a stop isn't really a major issue...now if you're tip-toeing both feet, well, that's a problem.
